rainy days

People often say that one sleeps more – or feels like it – in a rainy day because of its low temperatures. As I sat to study today and had to turn the lights on, however, I realised something else: it is not the low temperatures that make us sleepy, it’s the dim light. As the day goes by and the sky starts to darken, our brains start sending us a message saying that it is time to go to bed and sleep. During a rainy day the sky is kind of dark since dawn, so we have the belief it is still too early and we don’t need to wake up at all.
